Tongham Motor Club - Groups and Cars

At Tongham we not only race the SEGTO classes at each meeting, we also run two of our own formulas, Nudge and Spin contact class (with restrictions) and Thunder Rods non contact class.

Thunder Rods are any saloon or hatchback estate, FWD or RWD engine size is 1998cc upwards. Fuel injection and turbo’s permitted including Diesels but NO jags or MK1 or MK2 Granada’s.

Nudge and Spin are any 2-wheel drive saloon, hatchback or estate upto 1800cc maximum. Allowed carburettor, injection, or turbo engine, gearbox and differential must remain standard. For full rules click here to view.

The classes below are applicable to all championship and Club events:. All classes will be made available at Championship meetings, but certain Clubs do not run all classes independently at Club meetings - check before entering. Classes may be combined if necessary due to the lack of entries, at the discretion of the Host Club Competition Secretary.
The following classes are available for 2009:

All Groups are two wheel drive only

JUNIORS: 1000cc pushrod or single OHC engines permitted. At Club Level 10yrs - 16yrs No fuel injection
SEGTO ROUNDS No novice or white tops 12yrs - 16yrs

PRODUCTION SALOONS A: Up to 1000cc FWD and 1100cc RWD.  OHV or OHC as homologation list

PRODUCTION SALOONS B: Up to 1300cc Front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, single OHC, or OHV

MOD SALOONS C: Up to 1600cc front wheel drive, rear wheel drive,OHV, or single std OHC

HOT RODS 1450: Front Engine FWD. Rear engine RWD Modified saloons/pickup a maximum of 1450cc
Multi valve. Multi point fuel injection is permitted.

SUPER SALOONS: Any modified saloon of any drive, unlimited engine size. Fuel injection is permitted.

SPECIALS: Open wheeled specials. OHV or OHC. Standard Multi valve only. Up to 2001cc +60thou overbore,
with some tuning restrictions. Single engine only
